Welcome! My name is Alex Remy, and I'm a pet and freelance photographer based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This blog is a chronicle of personal and professional photography, including my love for animals, nature, and cooking. Please feel free to contact me with any questions at contactalexremy@gmail.com.

In addition to photography, I'm also a freelance artist, musician, and teacher. As you can probably tell, I'm extremely passionate about living a full creative life, and helping others share their memories and experiences.

I first began exploring the world of photography when I was a young teenager, although I didn't become seriously invested until a visit to Sequoia National Park. For the first time, I understood the real importance of photography; it was my chance to capture something majestic, a moment in time that no one else would experience quite the same way. That trip solidified my excitement for this medium, and I've been taking pictures ever since.

Over the years I've explored a variety of styles and subjects, including nature and people. But my great love is animal photography--which should come as no surprise since animals have always been a huge priority in my life. Even so, it wasn't until the passing of my dear friend and companion dog, Sara, that I launched my pet photography services. In her memory, 10% of all pet photography proceeds are donated to the Dog and Cat Cancer Fund. It's my hope that by celebrating our animal friends with photography, we can also make a difference in saving their lives.

When I'm not taking pictures, creating art, teaching and playing the piano, you can find me on long walks with my husband and Tess (our new shepherd-lab rescue dog), or hanging out with our precocious cats. I also like to bake, read, eat good (vegetarian) food, watch movies, listen obsessively to pandora.com, pop bubble wrap, and generally, get into mischief.
